I’ve used a lot of NPC books at my table, and this one strikes a really nice balance between flavor and mechanics. The statblocks feel thoughtfully designed, with CRs that match their intended roles, so I never worry about an encounter being wildly off the mark. What I really like is how each NPC has enough personality and hooks to instantly drop into a session, but the mechanics stay clean and easy to run. The variety is great too, giving me options for low level helpers all the way up to serious threats. It has become a reliable go to whenever I need a ready made NPC.
